About ready to purchase my. . .( whoops) our new KLX250s, my second Kaw since the 175 cc dual
purpose 2 cycle bike I bought in Medford, OR back in 74'.

The dealer says the shop can rejet the carb and make it an eighty mph Freeway cruiser. Sounds
like about a 1/2 hour job to me. I'm wondering what the dealership will want ($) for such a
delicate procedure?

Plan on putting more of a street Fat tire on the back, Fat as possible, not sure how Fat the bike will
take ? and of course a similar tire up front.

?

I don't know about everyone else, but performing the carb mods took me several hours. The actual carb work is very simple, but getting to the carb is a pain in the A**. I also did the crank case vent mod, which took a little time. I would recommend doing it yourself, but just have some patience(something that I lacked when I did it[:@]).

I've had my carb apart twice now. The first time it took a lot of time and patience. The second time was fairly quick and painless. Experience helps!

A fellow KLX250 owner came over yesterday to upgrade his bike. We did:

o 125 main jet
o 40 pilot jet
o NT1C needle with clip on 2nd down from top slot
o collar on needle
o drilled slide
o drilled out pilot jet adjustement block
o set pilot jet adjustment to 2 turns out from clockwise
o "Bafflectomy"
o 13 tooth countershaft aprocket

From the time he unloaded the bike from his truck and we secured it to my motorcycle lift talbe to the time he put it back on his truck was about 2 hours. Of course, we were drinking coffee, jabbering away about riding and other stuff and working at a very leisurely pace. It was fun, the results were as expected and he has a big, toothy grin on his face today.

I would imagine the shop will charge about 2 hours labor on the mod package.
