carb jetting
first off
its really great that there is so much interest in this relativly new bike
and i really apreciate all of the work and research that some of the members of this and other forums have put in
thanx guys
now on to buisness
i notice nearly everyone is jetting thier carbs nearly the same
im not very familiar with bike carbs but if they are anything like all of the automotive carbs i have worked on
then we should start with a jet that is intended for our individual altitudes and then move from there depending on perf mods
am i correct?
or is there some major difference with bike carbs?
most of the pioneers out there on these forums are from lower alt locations
my hometown is 3600 feet
and the rides 20 mins from my house are closer to 7500
any sugestions?

RE: carb jetting
You might try a 123 main and leave the pilot stock with only the snorkel removed. If you get up to 7500 and it is way too rich, pull your airbox lid completely off and see how it runs.

My riding starts at 7600 ft. and goes to the top of the continental divide. Can't recommend removing the air box lid or snorkel due to liability.

RE: carb jetting
I'm at around sea level and ride up to 3000 ft on occasions. I have the carb at 132 and 40 and am running with the air box lid off. Its absolutely perfect.
