carb help!
I will not participate anymore with the discussion from horror_fan. Let's call a spade a spade - It clearly has been pretty much a waste of effort when the question is what is a "needle" after being in this kind of threads for almost a month now.. Absolutely no attempt to learn anything about a carburetor has been demonstrated. It's like trying to discuss this stuff with my wife, who could care less about motorcycles, much less carburetors.
I would have thought with the access to the internet and a number of links some research to learn something would have been done. I'd think knowing the basic parts of a carburetor would be the first thing to do. Then consider the options. A half dozen members have made suggestions and given information to no avail. It meets the definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. We have led the horse to water, but we cannot make it drink.
Take it as an insult or take it for what it is - a wake up call to use the computer to look up information. That is how I find things I need to know fo more than just motorcycles. I've added to web design skills as well as graphics. Simply looking up Keihin carburetors will lead to their tuning manual. .There's a hell of a lot of information from absolutely reliable sources at the click of some keys.

Well, a part of me agrees with KLX678, but the Boss/Instructor/Captain in me knows of peeps like Horror - his "makeup" may require that he learn this stuff "his way"..
I dug in to research (tons of reading) and hands-on with a disassembled CVK , as well as lots of trial and error on the dyno - before I got to "where I am" ...
So... I gave him the proper setup, but I do not provide "CVK courses for the pseudo-committed" .... As I've told him, search on me and read my posts and you'll get the knowledge - certainly enough to ask informed questions instead of uninformed ones..

My suggestion is to get a camera and put it on the workbench. Everytime start taking something apart, take a picture of it first. Then you will know most of your answers.
Ever try and put a carb back together that someone else has taken apart. I'm imagining that is what your experiencing.

Horror, take your carb completely apart, put it back together, and you'll have answered a lot of your own questions - questions that you should NOT be asking here.. If you are not able to get your carb back together, you will need to hire it done...
