Lightbulb Carb to EFI?

This is probably a dumb question and I'm not sure if there is even a reason to do it, but has anyone ever thought of or tried to convert their KLX to EFI? All the parts must be available since you can buy them overseas? Just a thought...

I have thought about it before. But if theres nothing wrong with the carb, why switch? Its probably better to buy the bike that offers the EFI with it from the factory than to switch from a carb. But if you are on those extreme tuner guys, always looking for more power, then EFI is most likely the ticket.

"then EFI is most likely the ticket."
id say no. as far as i know their isnt anyway to adjust the cdi with the KLX's. so even putting an aftermarket exhaust on the bike may not give the power increase that a carb would after a re-jet (i could be wrong though)

+1.

I crunched all the numbers just for sh*ts and giggles, but quickly forgot about the whole thing because the price was ridiculous.

To do it properly, you would need to buy the ECU, throttle body, fuel pump, gas tank, seat, rad shrouds, lamda sensor, inlet temp sensor, crash sensor, wiring Harness, notched rotor which probably has a related sensor. Might as well get the new higher capacity stator for the added load from fuel pump while you're at it.. and with that you'll need the new regulator.

Am I missing anything?..probably, but I'm sure Y'all get the idea

Wow, I had no idea there would be so many parts to purchase! You could probably buy a whole lot of other goodies (i.e. big bore, suspension, etc) for the price of the EFI system. I guess I'll flush that thought....
