Default Cant seem to find a 13t sprocket :(

first post folks... glad i found this forum. I just rolled my brand new klx250 off of the dealers rollback at my house 3 days ago.. have 55 miles on it now. First impression on power was dissapointing.. but i know thats not the motors fault but the EPA restrictions on it to meet requirements for road vehicles. Im thinkin the first thing i want to do to it is to throw a 13t sprocket on it as im unsure about messin with the exhaust and having probs getting it inspected.... that brings me to this post.. i looked through this forum many times.. got parts numbers etc but still cant seem to find that d%mn sprocket anywhere.. any1 have a direct link to 1 for me?
thanks alot and i hope to be postin more here as my search for more power progresses. (next mod will prob be a new air snorkel)

jsac,
I had the same problem, and stiffler told me the one for the xr650L would work,
so I went to my local dealer and picked one up the same day. You will have to but it on backwards to make it work, but it does work nonetheless.
good luck,
Steve

Hey Steve I noticed that you have an XT 225, how do you like it? I just picked up a new 2006 225 for the wife. Your thoughts? She hasn't rode it yet, let the instructions begin, but I am really impressed with how easy the clutch is. I think she will pick it up real fast. And yes Marty, before you remind me again I am getting her in the beginners class.

Deej,
I really like my xt, right now its my favorite bike, (for dirt riding). I'm sure once I put all the mods into my klx that I have done with the xt I will like the klx a little better cuz of the extra power it natually has. The xt is light weight and really nimble, I am only 5'6" 140 soaking wet, so It really fits my frame pretty well. I think your wife will have a blast on it, (and you might too).
Let me know what ya think when you get it.
Steve

Deej, I know you asked Steve but IMHO there is no comparasion between the two bikes. The KLX spanks the XT. On the street, the handling are about the same. The brakes are far superior on the KLX. On the highway, no comparasion. Off road, KLX kills the XT. The XT wheelies much better than the stock KLX however....then again, any bike would. [&:]

The XT is much easier to ride and more forgiving and confidence inspiring. So it is a great bike for a beginner, hence an excellent bike for Mrs. Deej. The XT's seat height is ultra low. I have the rear preload on max and at a height of only 5'7", I can completely flat foot it with my knees bent.

Yes you're right. The clutch is soooo easy! It's a cable clutch to boot! That's because the springs are the same ones that Bic puts in their ball point pen!
