Bill charged me just over 300$ I sent him the head. I took it off and reinstalled it. 4 new valves and some other work. Depending on what yours needs, im sure it wont be exactly the same cost.

Bill recommended an upgrade, as they were the valves he used in his personal bike. I do not know what kind of valves they were, but i do know they were not Kawasaki valves. He also repainted the head for free. Very happy with his work.

Bill rebuilt the head on my Klx300 in the summer of 2011 for just under $300. He is a real fan of Kibblewhite valves and that is what he used. I discussed the negative comments I had heard about early failures reported by some users and he stated that that was earlier versions and that they corrected the issues. I reinstalled the head along with a BB331 kit. Do not ride as much as I used to but run it pretty hard for a couple of week in the mountains of Colorado and have had no issues. You can instruct him to use Kawasaki valves if you want to and he will. He will tell you what he thinks but will do what you instruct him do as long as he feels his work will fix your problem. If you want him to do something he is not comfortable with he will turn down the business. Not many businesses that operate that way. I have been to his shop several time and he is always experimenting with new parts and processes to improve motorcycles. He also spend time in a couple of bike shops here in town helping them with issues so he has a fairly large base to draw his knowledge from. My bike still runs good.
