Default Can a 2007 klx 250 bottom end be used is a 2009 ?

Got a question could I use a bottom end off a 2007 klx 250 in a 2009 klx 250 , everything looks the same but the neutral switch cover with the wire ( I have the one with the little brass **** that sticks out with a single wire to it ) I do still have that piece if I swap that out would it detect neutral with the shift drum with the other cover on it !

Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure the only main difference is internal (the gear ratios are different) otherwise it should be a straight swap....

Ok if that’s the case not bad as I have my other bottoms end and can swap the 2 transmission gears, just didn’t know about the neutral switch the 2007 has the huge wire from the shifter case and I’m putting on the single wire side case. My bottom end threw the rod and broke piece of the bottom end case.
