Default Cam recomendations

I got the bottom end covered pretty well with the breathing, jet and sprocket mods but would like more mid range grunt.

Any recomendations on a cam setup??

I have Web Cam cams in my 331 and that would be one of the last mods I would do. Before thinking about cams I would have the suspension sprung for your weight and re-valved, big bore kit and a pumper carb. For off road use, after the suspension, the pumper carb, FCR35, is the #1 performance mod you can do. Although, I started with a 300 not a 250 so the big bore would have to rate very high as well if you have a 250. IMO, the pumper carb with the 300 is much better than the 331 with the CVK. If you are going to do the big bore there is no reason not to get the 331 over the 300 as it would be about the same price.

Beet Nassert ST I cams or Yoshimura cams, both are about $450 - 500

I'm running with the Nassert ST-1 right now and really like them. I've seen and heard of good results from the Yosh as well though.

The timing on the Yosh cams is such that it's harder to turn-over the engine than the with the Nassert, but they both labor the starter more than stock.

Another alternative would be looking into having Web Cams grind the stock cams to either the Nassert or Beet Specs, thereby keeping the ACR.

Or you can press off the ACR and put it on your new cams, I think. I will try that this weekend, and see if it fits the Nassert cams.
