I need to replace my fuel tank on my 09 sf ca model (the metal fuel vent line inside the tank has somehow devoloped a tiny hole and fuel leaks out the vent tube under the bike when the tank is more than half full) My question is can i use a tank from a non-ca model if my bike is desmogged (since the ca model tank only has 1 or 2 extra vent tubes coming from the bottom for smog stuff and i wont be using them anymore) also is it easy to transfer the gas cap over?

 

If the leaking part of the tank is part of the emission control functions, you may be able to get a new tank under warranty. Check with a dealer.
