Any way, a few rivets and some scrap aluminium.
Job done.

Nice fix. When I busted my handguards, I used super Glue and then ran my soldering iron down the inside of the crack "fusing" the plastic back together. I love to solder plastic this way. It is almost invisible from the outside.

Wow! That takes me back to 1989. I had a Suzuki LT 250R Quadracer, and I let some girl that I didn't even know ride it, and she came back to the pit and the whole front end was hammered. I got it home and thought to my self. I wonder if I could use a solder gun to sort of weld it back together. It totally worked! It was after that moment that I decided to not let anyone near my toys ever again. I got no apology, no offer to pay, and I still see that girl to this day. She probably doesn't even know who I am.....which was the story of my whole life. But I got a hot wife now, so who is the loser now?.....ok I am but still.

I did those when I first got the clarke tank and wanted to know just how much fuel it really held, and just how much was in reserve.
Just never rubbed em off.
