Brake Pedal Too Small

The brake pedal on my '07 KLX250H is a little smaller than I'd like. In other words, I'd like it to be about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wider (at the point where the boot contacts the pedal) to make it easier to "find" by feel. It's not a major problem, just an annoyance. Has anyone else had this problem, and, if so, what did you do about it? (I mostly ride dirt roads and paved roads - some trails.) Thanks!

I've looked also for such a thing and my google results were disappointing. seems no one makes a aftermarket brake pedal cover for this model.

Some guys have been very creative with the welder to make wider pegs. I think the same could be done with the brake pedal.

I saw his post Scott and didn't mention it thinking the welding mod for my foot pegs might not be strong enough for the brake pedal. What do you think?

To the OP, check this out, might be an option for you.

I think a competent welder with good materials could do a fine job. We'll buy those cheap Chinese welded foot pegs from ebay and stand on them over jumps. Just a fraction of that force gets applied to a brake lever. Just don't ask me to do the welding because I can't!

I also think your work on the rear footrests is great. Have they held up? Even if the weld failed, the passenger should still have a good portion of their foot on the main peg.

I'd just bend the lever out about 1/2-3/4".

The funny thing is I think my wife has been on the bike twice since they were welded. So far so good! :D

Happy wife, happy life!

I took the advice of several posters. Mike of Mike's RE-Cycles of Adams, Ma. made this little bracket and welded it on. It works like a charm. Thanks to all.
