The Vinyl, is IMO, the best way to go. It could be removed and replaced if needed, as time and wear merit. I have a heat gun, so thats no problem. We have sign shops. All I have to do is call. Once I get prices I will post up.
Scratches are character marks, but I do like a clean bike from time to time.

I got a black piece of vinyl to cover my 3rd brake light on my sonoma and i cut out GMC, so you saw GMC when i hit the brake. I bought a 1' square piece it was just a few bucks.

You can use much cheaper Maier aftermarket klx300 black plastic, You just need to use a klx 300 tank, which is 2.6 gallons btw
