The maximum horsepower came to 26.55 at 7,100 RPM; maximum torque came to 21.11 at 5,800 RPM. This was with the following equipment in place:
Stock KLX 250 header, Super Trapp slip-on muffler w/5 discs, Mikuni pumper flat slide TM33/34 carb. Kenda K270 5.10-18 rear tire. Stock gearing 6th gear run.
Pilot jet 40, main jet 140, air box lid on, KDX 200 snorkle, air box backfire screen removed, crankcase vent modified.
Stock valves, ports cleaned, 351 c.c. piston 12.5:1 compression on regular pump gas, no detonation or ping.
As a note, I changed the stock header to a Power Bomb header for another run on the dyno, but actually lost 1/10th horsepower.
The headlight is a UFO OREGON.
