I use a 130 main,#40 pilot, Kouba "T" air screw 2.5 turns out, N1TC needle & Collarwith the clipset on the 2nd groove from top, KDX HiFLO Snorkel air intake and K&N Air filter. I ride at approximately 50-150 ft above sea level.

With the vortex insert, I wouldn't go much higher than 130. If you have no issues with noise, however, I've heard of at least two KLX riders who run BG with race core only and both say it goes like a raped ape with a 140 main. This is backed up by a dyno run on by 'Scat' were he pulled his quiet insert with a 128 and the reading went WAY lean a WOT.

Also, the guys whoare running the 140's have the air lid removed.

Severe heat damage with prolonged operation.Damage to your valves/head and can even be as bad as a hole in the top of your piston. It all depends upon how much you increase the airflow, but with lid off and BG pipe with race core only you are asking for trouble if you don't rejet right away.

Hey Ryan,
The Big Gun and... should be there by the end of the week. My jetting at 7600 ft. is not going to help you much so I will leave those recommendations to the forummembers with more experienceat your elevation. But FYI my settings are:Stock jets (118 main 35 pilot), N1TC needle on second slot, slide drilled to 7/64, mixture screw at 11/2 turns out, UNI filter w/ dual snorkel set up.

That may be a generalized starting point for your elevation that you run a #145 main only trip. All of the#'s listed here from members at their altitudesand mods are prolly theirpreferredsetup. But it is up to you to find the setting that is right for your set up. Members listing pilot sizes, mains and needles along with position of the clip and including the altitude plus using any other mods tells me that they know something about carburation.
