Hmmm....this is interesting. Anyone else with a 351 have any clutch issues?
How many miles since you installed the kit? I think the clutch should be able handle the HP.

i have 1650 miles and never beat on the clutch.
I ride very reserved, and can always pull the front wheel up first or second gear with just the throttle.
I've been riding in sand mostly so wheel slip is constant and never gave a second thought to the clutch. I just gave it a try in 3rd gear on the street by dumping the clutch because i was riding next to a friend with a DRZ400s and he tried a 3rd gear wheelie, couldn't do it so i tried to show him up. Surprise was on me.
Also i use Kawi oil and just did an oil change as well.

Guys, check out planet klx. There is an artical for a kx125 clutch upgrade on there. It's claimed to be a good upgrade for the klx300.
http://planetklx.org/faqs.html Its about half way down the page.

WHAT'S THE DEAL ON THE KX CLUTCH UPDATE?
The KLX clutch is based on a 93 KX 125 clutch. The stock KLX steel plates are just as good as the KX ones. If yours are in good shape use them or order more stock ones. The big difference is in the KX friction plates P/N 13088-1090. You can use all seven KX friction plates if you remove the jada spring and washer. If you choose to not to remove those parts then use six KX plates and the last plate in the stack has to be a KLX friction plate. Just to clarify, that's seven friction plates P/N 13088-1090 and six steel plates P/N 13089-1094

After rereading EinFahrts clutch post, I am thinking that the clutch slippage is not 351 related. He has a 330 and runs with less spring pressure and has no problems.....GaryC, did you launch your bike is third gear?

That idea of using kx fibre plates is great, as a similar fix was used on my trx using cr plates. But what about the springs? kx500 klx450r klx400 klx300 ?
Huh... the wife tells me its not slipping anymore... I did see her do an acceleration wheelie 1st gear taking off then shifting into 2nd she pulled another. So it must not be as bad as I thought. Im gonna go have to see for myself what its doing

I tried to launch it in 3rd. I was rolling at a good clip thoughi could have easily rolled on the throttle and pulled away, but tried to pin it and dump the clutch to see if it would wheelie in 3rd.
could it be heat related???
