Best clutch for klx 330
Best clutch for klx 330?
I keep getting clutch slippage. Also can through about 4 EBC clutches now. Previous one has stronger springs from Keng Engine, at least I hope that the mechanic installed them correctly 🤦
Guys I need the heaviest duty clutch possible for this Klx330 and hopefully its the last one for a long time.
Any ideas appreciated.

Have you seen this thread? big-clutch-improvement-10-mins-0-dollars
What would you recommend? Adding Barnett springs? I see it recommended often
Also did you try OEM Kawasaki comportments on 330? My 300 obviously doesn't have torque as yours, but oem components work good.
Personnaly I still run the original stock clutch, been on 330 for at least 10 years, I also run in winter with a snowbike conversion kit and I pull a grooming roller. So I don't think the problem is the clutch itself unless you got a defect one. You could be using the wrong oil, if you use automotive oil with antislipage that would be a problem. Maybe your clutch cable adjustment is too tight. Maybe you have an habbit of keeping your hand on the clutch and you engage it slightly without noticing. Maybe your clutch cable is broken inside and create too much friction so it's not releasing properly all the time. Keep looking, I hope you'll find the source of your problem.
Have EBC clutch in at present with the standard springs it came with. Oil is liqui-moly 10w-40. New clutch cable with play adjusted correctly. Will see if I can obtain some stiffer springs as not too concerned about a slightly stiffer lever.
If you read up on the old planetklx website it suggested running kx125 fiber & steel clutch plates p/n 13088-1090 & 13089-1094. No suggestions on clutch springs however.
After a year the wife’s 09 klx got a 351 kit, it had a full exhaust and a keihin fcr35 pumper already. She would try to keep up to my 450 which I figured took its toll on the oem clutch and it’s started to slip after only a month or so. So a ebc 212 dirt digger clutch kit was installed. The ebc clutch springs went soft quickly though and I installed Barnett hd springs as quick as I could and that solved the clutch slipping issue.
I did watch the Mr duhfactor you tube thread on the Katsumi klx build. He recommended Barnett springs but a different p/n than the Barnett springs I used. Looking the part number up the Katsumi Barnett springs were for a 83-4 Honda atc250r. I tried them but the clutch springs coil bound before you could pull the clutch lever to the bars. The wire diameter was to big. I never figured out which Barnett springs Katsumi was running. But I did get the p/n off the yt video.
I’ve read owners not recommending running full synthetic motor oil as it’s too slippery for the clutch in these bikes. In my experiences with the 09 klx the factory clutch is adequate for the stock hp output but once you start modifying and increasing hp output you need to change to Barnett hd springs right away so the oem fiber plates will last.
