Which oil is the best to use?

Ignition makes a nice, cheap filter, and it comes with Notoil, if that's your thing.

My K&N is basically a rock strainer, it passes a bit of fine dust I find stuck to the backfire screen. But the trails are only really dusty here for a couple of months in late summer and the K&N does help the bike breathe better so I just live with it.

From a filtering standpoint the stock foam is probably as good as it gets. Aftermarket foam is usually slightly coarser for more air flow. Some use a layer of fine and a layer of coarse, but not usually as thick as the oem foam. Any of them maintained well should do a good job until the dirt has used up all the oils "oilyness" and tackyness. At which point the air is finding a dirty path in.

I chose a two piece UNI as I wanted something that would breath a little better.
I use Bel-Ray filter oil and a filter skin over the top when it's super dusty.
As RimBender said, maintaining the filter is the key.
For what it's worth IMO a lot depends on your local riding conditions as to what you can get away with.

I have a Twin-Air, an OEM filter, and a Uni 2-piece collection of filters. They all seem to work with equal performance. They seem to flow about the same, and I never see any dust in the air boot. The kind of oil may be as important as the kind of foam filter used. I think most any of the name brand foam filter oils that have that tacky, sticky consistency work about as well as anything.
