If you are still in doubt about whether you'll need them in the woods, or on any back roads trail .... just look at someones existing guards that rides the back woods and trails!! The guards will invariably look like someone has taken a bench grinder to them!!! Then just imagine what they protected while getting scuffed up like that. You'll get the message, and then you'll feel better as you dig deep into your wallet to buy the good ones. HA!

Happy trails,

Here is a good website for pictures of the Zeta system. Its on a different bike, but the photos are from various angles and show off the product very nicely. As you can see, there are a number of color choices to select from. I chose white, but wish that I had got the green ones. I've sanded my white ones once and did a 3 color paint job over the original color after scouring the original finish with numerous trees, rocks, sand washes etc.

Happy trails,

I just put on a set of Tusk D-Flex. They went on fine. I used a spacer here and there so they were not a simple bolt on and forget about it, but it was not too bad either.

I'll take some photos and post later.

I have not rode with them.... yet... Tomorrow.

I went with these.

I know some guys won't use the full alloy wrap around guards because of the broken wrist thing, but on balance I think they are a better option for trail use.
They sure cop a pounding.
