Everything was ok yesterday until i left work, i get more than halfway home and my truck "falls out" of gear, its an automatic. So i coast to a spot off the road and call my dad, hes a mechanic, and he says hold on he will call the tranny shop he knows. So while im waiting for him to call back, i was real clost to astop sign, traffic was backed up a bit. I guess this one guy didnt see it backed up.... i hear tires squealing, and i look up and see this astro van smash into the back of a honda crv that had a spare tire on the back tailgate, the backwindow shatters, and it gets pushed into the jeep grand cherokee in front of it...[:-] wow... that was pretty cool.... everyone was ok... shaken up, but ok. The cops show up and get my name and stuff cause i saw the whole thing.... So the tow truck comes for me and we tow it to my dads house planning on doing most of the work ourselves, Then the owner of the tranny shop calls and says that they will do all the work at cost.... So we decide that it would be better to let them do everything becauseof the trans fluid in the lines and rad that we couldnt get out.... i wouldnt want that contaminating the new tranny....One problem truck is at my dads.... so we call the tow truck again to tow it out there.... So thats just what i needed, having to spend like 1000-2000$ on a tranny for my truck.... So as of now both vehicles with my name on the owners card are broke..... the bike and now my truck.... but i have to pay for my truck.... So that sucks pretty bad... but it is what it is. Annnnnnnnnyway....... My dad has been a mechanic his whole life but is now an insurance claim adjuster for aftermarket warranty companys, He says to me when i was over there last night that he went to the shop where my bike is to do an inspection on a quad and asked them if he could see my motor... he only snapped a couple pics for me so here is the head and piston.

yep...... the face of the valve broke off... hopefully the parts will be there soon. [>:]

 

So is that a new head, valves, and piston for you? Looks like 2 more valves got smacked as well as the head.

Yea...... i have had 3 GM's and beat the crap outta them and not a problem... and im pretty easy on my truck.... it just happened.... o well hope i get both my vehicles back soon.......[>:]

 

Dude, I would be asking for an entire motor...[&:] I'd be concerned about the bottom end condition after that type of beating in the combustion chamber. How bout those con rod bearings? Next thing you know you'll be wailing down the highway and the crankshaft bearings / connecting rod will go.
