There is an area North of where I live where the plateau that this city is on drops off like 1000 feet through some rugged mountainous terrain. It would involve me riding at 70-75 mph for about 40 minutes to get there. Besides the vibrations etc. would my stock 06 klx250s be ok doing that little trip? I have hit this speed many times before but not for that sustained amount of time.

I rode mine on the rode one day for 164 miles, at speeds around 70 75 mph. Just check for bolts vibrating loose, and enjoy the iron butt.
Also its a 250 4 stroke, they like to be reved.... i run mine at 7grrrr... rpm most of the time.

 

Yeah it will do it, but why not run at about 60-65, which is in the bike's comfort zone? It would still take you less than one hour, be much less strain on theengine and get way better MPG.
