axel nut front wheel, quickie question65
need to know if a bolt fell off.. there seems to be threads on the inside of the axel its self and it looks like theres a nice seat for it on the other side, but no bolt... am i missing something? you just loosen the 4 little bolts and then un bolt the axel and it slides out? oh does anyone have the torque values of the small 4 bolts?? i went to suncup and got the axel value its 65ft pounds... thanks
The 4 bolts on the front axle cap should be lightly torqued to 9.8 Nm. When you do that, put them on finger tight, tight up the axle, then pump the forks up and down to let the forks settle to their natural position on the axle, then tighten the cap bolts evenly.

went to the kawai dealer (poped a tube chaingin the tire.. its ok, it had 8,500 miles on it.
they said no end bolt on the axel... so i'm wondering, uhhh whys it tapped with treads?

Because that's how the factory made it......The "axle" threads into the opposing fork tube and is lock clamped by the 4 small cap screws on the right side fork to lock it there....It works and it works very well.....quick change IMO.and easy quick change at that.no issues with alignment as it's pretty much self centering.
