Default Anyone running the IMS tank with a tank bag?

Hey gang,

The spot welded tabs keep breaking off my stock tank, tired of repairing them.
I use the Giant Loop Diablo or Fandango tank bag depending on the length of the ride. The IMS looks a little taller and narrower up top, does that cause problems using a tank bag? How about the vent hose?

Thanks in advance,
TC

I use a Wolfman Enduro tank bag with my IMS. Fits well and sits just behind the vent.

Default Behind the vent hose

Thanks for the reply canklx!
When you say the bag sits behind the vent hose, are you having to set it more rearward than if the vent hose was not there or does it normally sit there?
I'll have to look but I think. My GL bags cover the entire stock cap, just touching the bars when turned to the stops... wondering if the IMS cap is further forward than stock?

On the stock tank the bag sat over top of the filler cap but on the IMS the tank is higher at the cap so the bag does not naturally sit in the same spot. Just back of the cap and the bag is small enough not to be in the way when standing.

I'm running a Coretech bag on top of my IMS 3.0g tank. No problems.
The bag sits on top of the fill cap and does squish the vent line a little. I did change to a clear fuel line for the vent hose since it is a little more flexible. The original black hose eventually cracked at the bend.

Get rid of your IMS cap. Acerbis locking cap works well and doesn't use a vent tube. I ordered one when I bought my IMS tank 8 years ago or so. It was only around 20$. I figured it was worth a try. Never had an issue with poor venting. Had my bike seriously upside down in the woods where it took two of us to get it upright. No fuel leaked out.

Thanks for the info guys!
I'll have to see how the GL bags will ride a little farther back on the tank - thanks again!
