I looked at a 400 Pampera but decided it wasn't for me.
Too risky for something that wasn't as good as a DRZ.

They make good trials bikes but I wouldn't buy one for trail on enduro use.

Mainly because there are more tried and tested bikes out there if I wanted some european exotica.

I found this.

But if it was way cheap?

Yep, cheap enough but remember, If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Yes I think the 450 was a big improvement on the 400.
At the time I saw a comparo between the 400 and the DRZ.
From memory the DRZ won out.
Not that they bagged the Pampera.
But do they ever?

I really don't know squat about them other than that the local dealership (Condottas, in Wenatchee WA.) quit selling them because (they say) it was taking 6 to 7 months to get replacement parts. I did test-ride two 450FSE's (used) and was vastly impressed with the power and (apparent) quality. $3,200 for the '05 that I rode. . . WAAAAAY too much power for this newbie! Still. . . they go for a big discount over a Katoom! If you buy it, let us know what you think after you've put a few thousand miles on it!

FM,

You crack me up. As if the cast nets weren't enough, now I know you fish, because you are showing signs of that well know fishermans disorder known as "I aint got one of those". Of course, the same could be said for folks that like cars, guns, women - oops, bad choice there, a guy could get mangled...

Point is, your sig shows you with a 250 & a 640. The 450 would be a nice fit in between, or even as a replacement. I'll assume for a moment that the Good Lord gave you the same **** as the rest of us, meaning that you can only ride one at a time, unless your day job is with the circus.

Same for fishing. I probably have 30 rod/reel combos hanging in my garage, most designed to catch snook/redfish/trout yada yada. But all just slightly different of course (I'm guilty as charged, your Honor).

If the Gas Gas is sound it sounds like too good a deal to pass up - but be careful, just like that bar in Okeechobee - grab it. Hell, if I find a Van Staal at a yard sale for $100 you can bet it will come home with me....

Well I don't have one.

But I thought about it long and hard....and "Deep down inside" I want a tagged smoker.

So I'll let another Cracker get a killer deal on a that bike.

You been stalking my threads..lol. All good fun.
