Default Anyone have a Scotts steering dampner?

Is anyone running a Scotts steering dampner on the klx. Is the Scotts even runnable on the klx. Is there just a bolt on mount or do you need to get a different upper triple?

Are there different types of the Scotts dampner. I know you need an offroad one but Iif I try to find one on Ebay I want to know what I am looking for. Thanks

Below is a re-post of mine from a different thread. You have a few options as far as mounting goes. I would get the off road version for the KLX. The least expensive way to mount is to just buy a Scotts mounting kit, which includes the top clamp/stabilizer mount for what ever size bars you are using. It's about $100.00 for the weld on unit and about $140.00 for the bolt on. I use the bolt on unit. The most expensive way would be aftermarket triple clamps like I reference below. There are also a few other companies that sell top clamps for stabilizers that also have built ins for other items such as computers and hand guard mounts.

I have a Scotts with BRP triple clamps and ride almost exclusively off road. It substantially helps it the nasty rocky sections, long whooped out sections, and does help some with arm pump and fatigue. I have arm problems that have somewhat limited my riding and after having one I will probably never ride without one again. I will say IMO, for off road, if you do not have your suspension set up properly the stabilizer would be a wast of money that should go toward the suspension first.

I mounted one on a 09 klx250s. The kit was advertised as a bolt on but required modifying to the stock upper triple clamp for clearance for the bolt on post mount (grinding/refitting/checking clearance/grinding again...nothing major). Had to bend the ignition key to clear the speedometer also. Theres pics somewhere.

But there is a weld on post that does away with that. Check brpmoto dot com. I used the bolt on post mount #5578, Scotts #903419 top bar clamp. Again the weld on post mount would not require the clearancing I had to do. They might have a triple clamp ready to go.

I know GPR has different dampeners for street bikes but don't know if Scotts does.

Happy New Year
