Default Big Gun... A little quieter Nozzle experiement

Ok. I am running the headache inducing Big Gun Evo.

I have been experimenting with various "nozzles" (this is what I am calling them for lack of a better term).

Big Gun has a handy little extra part that allowed me to play with different "nozzles".

When you remove the Exhaust Tip (three little screws) then a spark arrestor screen comes off, then a washer (I'll call that the stock nozzle that is 2.38" OD x 2.00" ID x 3mm), and then the can and the quite core is inside there.

Well. I created a variety of 2.38" OD x 3mm nozzles with various thru areas trying to balance less loud with minimal power loss. I believe I have a new current champion today. At this point I thought I'd post and share.

If anybody has a Big Gun that they want it a little quieter I can send you my extra nozzle for the low low low price of $700,000,000,000
We'll call it the SlapDrum Bail Out

Let me know. Maybe I can make a drawing and you can make your own.
If you don’t have a drill press I can send you mine extra one.

I'll have to post dB info later. It's too dark now.
But it is definitely quieter, and almost no noticeable loss of power.

Success!!!

Later, SlapDrum

I thought it was the louder the better....."loud pipes save lives" Right? No? Hmmmm I suppose if you are trying to sneak around then a quiet pipe would be good.

Loud pipes save lives.
But Big Gun's Pipe will wake the Dead!

Also the "nozzle" I made has added bottom end torque better than the Big Gun by itself.
I probably stole a little off the top end. But I can still get up to 68mph. Actually, there was a little left at 68 (maybe 72 if the wind is in my favor - hahaha) but I did not need to find it all.

LOL.

I rode mine into work last week and rode into the wind the entire way...I couldn't top 55 indicated until the wind died down...

These things need a JATO pack.

Randy49, I think about 62mph was my max when it was stock.
I think the best way to add to that is the Exhaust.
That little .58" ID exhaust outlet is killer small.

I experiemnted with .75", and 1", 1.125", and 1.25" but as a single hole it was just loud. It did not get quiter until I did the multiple holes. The pattern I am running now is one .5" hole in the center and then 8x .375" dia holes. It workls out to ~1.09 sq.in of thru space. A little more than a 1" dia single thru hole is ~.98 sq.in (i forget the exact number .5^2*3.1415 for those that must)

The guys at the dealership thought a Q series,?Two Brothers?, muffler for my bike--said it wouldn't be so loud. I probably will be doing more on than off road riding so this is something I;m going to look into, fore I really don't care for super loud exhausts, I like to be able to hear other things around and under me.
