anyone good with suspension? 2009 KLX250s

I weigh 185 and my 2009 is definitely too soft in front. If I deceided to change springs, what kind of time and money are we talking if I do it at home? Is this an advanced repair? I have not adjusted either front or back yet. I have read many posts but still don't understand the overall adjustments I need to or should make to better set up my bike both front and back. I hate to goto the stealership but I just can't seem to grasp the whole suspenson setting concept.....

Springs are not hard. Just take the top cap off, remove the old spring, replace with new.

yup easy. Read that thread Nobrakes put up, lots of good info and updates. Look up the prices on the motopro site. I think they were ballpark $150ish for the fronts. Thats all i did.
