Any word on the 2008 Models?

Im looking to get myself a KLX250S & was hoping for something in the 300cc range thats street legal.
I was in a Kaw dealer last week & he has some left over 2 stroke KDX that caught my eye& even a 450.
I gotta go back & check them out.

Also, what kind of $$$ can I get a 4 year extended warrenty for?

 

Sound like you are all over the place in what you want. "A 250, something in the 300 range, a two stroke, and a 450." The only one that is street legal in your list is the KLX250. You really need to narrow it down a little then shop around for that type of bike. Figure out what you want in a bike then read all about it then go out and buy one knowing what you are getting for your money. You will be much happier.

 

If you're even considering the KLX450 or any of the KDXs, and don't care if your bike is or isn't street legal, then don't even think about buying the KLX250, you'll just end up being another resident Iowaguy.

I too am interested in knowning more about the 08 models. They desperately need to update these bikes, BNG aside.

 

KDX? I thought they stopped making that like 10 years ago.

 

Just this past actually. 2007 was the first year that the KDX was not available, so dealers are sure to have a few old floor models.

 

Hmmm interesting. I guess I'm just thinking ahead when the two smokes will be a thing of the past.

 

anybody get that new...... crap.... dirt bike magazine, not sure which one.. maybe dirt rider.... where they took a brand new kx450f and put an old school kx500 two stroke in it? The KX500AF (look it up) craziness.... They said that the 450 is tame compared to the 500 two smoke.... i dont think id wanna ride it....

 

That would be a crazy ride! I took a ride on a friends CR500 many years ago. That bike was so fast it should have been illegal! It just felt unsafe and I am sure it was with the old school suspension, frame, wheels, tires... I'll bet that bike in the right hands would clean up a MX race.

 

If I can plate a 450 that's the route I would like to go. Im a bit bummed about the stock 250 in the power dept & just saw the new stuff from Yahama that peaked my intrest, wanna hear more about that one. My older bros always benn Harley & Kaw guys(Italian Z90,1340 Low Rider,KZ650,ZX9) & I always liked Kawasaki but my 1st new bike was a Honda XL185S. I have a Yahama Outboard on my boat & if thats any indication of their bikes, then they are good to go.

Looks like I will wait to see what on the floors when the show falls in January!
