I was going to try and tweak the spring yesterday, but I didn't want to add to me already sucky day.....oh wait that would have been before the oil leak. I'm really not sure how to do the spring thing. The grease works for me, in fact when I took out the old filter the grease from last time was still there.

Ya i use Fram as well, so far no probs with them, and my, my , a klx on the ground, you know when mine hits the ground i always nibble behind the handgaurds, you know take a little advantage of her.... [8D]

Yeah Deej use the fram, I was surprised I walked into the local parts place (auto) and they had our filter on the shelf, and don't beat the dead horse when it's down. Even with rubber.

Like deej the kawasaki dealer here told me the grease trick and said that they do it with all the kxs and klxs and as long as u dont put too much its fine. I wouldnt bend the spring by any means. That can cause the filter not to move as it is supposed to when the pressure builds the filter is supposed to move out of the way so that the oil wont build up alot of pressure and wont blow oil lines......
