Air filter oiling

Air filter oiling
Hi All,
I clean my air filter nearly after every ride, each time I do it, I still end up with a heap of air filter oil dripping out the airbox drain, last time I really made sure that I wringed out the excess oil but still have the issue, i'm concerned because I don't want excess oil making it's way into the carb. I am using castrol foam filter oil which is very tacky, basically I wash in turps then in soapy water, let it dry completely, I use a small container and pour oil over the top and massage through the filter until the entire filter inside and out is covered. I then let it sit for maybe an hour and then wipe off any excess with a clean rag. Anybody got any tips on what I might be doing wrong, when I first got the bike their was no filter oil dripping and I don't think I am putting too much oil on. Also the filter seems to feel dry when I check after riding and their is a puddle of filter oil in the bottom of the airbox, I have the lid on but no snorkle.
Cheers
Chris.

RE: Air filter oiling
after you oil it, you dont have to let it sit for an hour.... i put the oil on make sure its totally covered, then use a paper towel and squeeze the filter against thepaper towel to get all the excess out, and keep doing it till there really isnt much oil coming out.
