Default Air Box help on 09

Hello,
First time poster, I bought a new 09 klx250s and have it in now to the dealer for the jet kit. Ordered a FMF Q4 exhaust ( should be here in a few days) and now looking into the air box mods? Is there some pics here somewhere of the 09 air box mods? there are so many post, Its a little heard sorting through them. Is the 09 differant then the 08 as far as the air box ?

Thanks
Larry

You should have done the exhaust and air box before having the jet kit done. Not a big deal just means you are going to have to readjust the jets to fit the new mods. And welcome to the forum there is a sticky at the top of the forum that says Noob info that should help you with the mods. I think it was Dirt surfer that had his mod day posted and was very helpful. And same airbox on the 07's and 09's. Now go post in the new member’s section to introduce yourself before Deej comes.

Hi Larry. Some on here have enlarged the crankcase vent. There is a restriction where the vent hose enters the airbox. Some debate on here whether it is a benefit or not. I have not, and don't plan on doing mine.
+1The carb needs to be jetted after the new pipe is on.
As far as the lid.
Many have got it "right" without taking the lid off. I run mine with only the snorkel removed.

Thanks for all the information! I will be looking around on the forums sorting it all out.
The dealer should have the FMF Q4 by weeks end. I have the 13T sprocket sitting on the table here. Anxious to get it back next week. Keeping this thing under 4000 RPM will be hard to do!
