Just from the riding you specified I'd recommend the stock cam,I've had the 101 and the 55 grind.

Plenty of that distance over here but not on a bike. Great effort. How's your "Monkey But?"

Yo, you gotta tell us why.

How does each of those three cams move the power (I'm using the term power very loosely ) around? Don't write an iowa essay, just a quick opine on each compared to stock....we all know how that one feels.

Default Iron Butt

I'd like to be the first to nominate Chris for the 2008 Iron Butt Trophy.

I can barely go 50 miles on the stock saddle without looking for a soft place to sit down. 700+ at interstate speeds, well, you're a better man than I, Gunga Din

Good luck with your mods....

Welcome to the forum Chris.

Shadetree, I saw a pic of you and the other 5 for the gs challenge in a local bike mag today. How did the girl in the contest do?

Well from stock to 101 you can tell in the mid to upper rpms but its not like day and night. The 55 moves it up to high mid to upper rpms but makes the power band shorter peakier. Right now I have the 55 intake with the 101 exhaust in with ti retainers with the stock springs I found to much seat pressure with the aftermarket springs and was getting valve bounce with the stiff springs.

Hey, Jeff.

So, what mag did you see our photos in? Was there a story on the competition?

Brienne rode exceptionally well. She is tall, probably my height at least...about 5'11". She has raced some motocross and does a lot of road racing, so she's no stranger to the pressure of competition. I was the only one with less experience on the big boxer's than she had, so she did struggle some in the tighter technical stuff, (my strong suit), but I must say, she was absolutely fearless. In the snake pit...the creek we had to fight the bikes through, she gutted it out just like the guys. She was also able to pick her bike up, although the judges did help her a few times. I think she will be back next year and if she is, she will be formidable. She lives fairly near Jim Hyde's Rawhyde Adventure Camp and has taken his course. She will likely spend time there in training for the 2009 GS Trophy. Keep an eye on that one.

Any pix of the TM36-68 in situ? Seems a tight fit in there and 36 implies a larger body.
