I had similar issues after my big bore install. I was was running the manual timing chain tensioner too tight.

Never even thought of that! I have the stock one but it might have pooched. I'll check it out, thanks!

Home from the dealership, formerly a KLX250S, now she's a KLX351S. Has nice nasty little growl when you blip the throttle, too wet today to actually do a test ride though...

Looks good! You're gonna love it! Did you do a pumper carb also?
