350 cc big bore for KLX250
MERRY CHRISTMASS TO ALL
Well I got the 351 kit installed & run two heat cycles on the engine. I installed a remote heat guage on the bike the pick up is located where the heat sencer was located. Rode the bike for the first time with the 351 kit the bike is smoothe didn't run it past 4500 RPM. It was about 30 Deg. when I took it for a ride so I didn't ride very long about 10 miles. The heat guage only went to 160 Deg. Plan to ride it if the weather warms up a little next week. Will give a report later on how it runs.

Thanks for the update Bill. What would be really cool is to find out the oil temp. There are direct readings guage availabe here in Ja that thread direcly into the oil filler cap, but I'm not sure how accurate they are. For circuit use, there are large bore kits available that come with an oil cooler, but that's a pretty punishing environment.
We rode 110 miles on a test ride, I'm still on the 250 with the stock system plus free mods, and Bill and his wife rode the new 351's. The two new big bore bikes have 117.5 miles on them now. I led us all over the place out in the Flint Hills here in Kansas. It was supposed to be about a 60 mile test run, but I got us lost and plumb going the wrong way, in the middle of the boondocks, and I had to beg gas off of a farmer kid, and get directions how to get back to civilization, and it was 44F and we liked to froze our behinds off, but yeah, those 351's definitely had a test ride. They performed great.
Perfect test ride country.

(I got a sneak peek ride on one of them for about a couple 2-3 miles, and wow, does this engine rev fast, compared to the 250.)

He's still waiting for info from suppliers for final pricing. I know at least the piston is being custom made, so they'll have to calculate all that when they actually churn-out a batch of them.

Bill said he isn't leaving his in the truck next time.
Myself, I don't mind finding some adventure that way; it make's better stories. The problem is, you only want to find some adventure, not too much.

I now have a price for the 351 kit.
$498.50 + $14.95 Insurance + $6.50 Shipping = $519.95 if shipped in the U.S.A.
The price is subject to change depending on vendor increases beyond my control.
Hopefully parts wil be ordered in a couple of weeks.

Cool I'll post up as the first paying customer
I assume that price means me sending you my stock 250 cylinder that is sitting in a box?
Do you prefer email communication or old school telephone....I know I will not be the only one to ask.
Payment....PayPal, visa or check.
