Default 300R cylinder/piston laying around?

I'm close to buttoning my 250S back up after a full submersion. While I have it apart I was wondering if anyone had a 300 piston/cylinder laying around they'd like to part with.

Maybe an old project that never happened? maybe you decided the 351 kit was more to your taste?

Let me know.

TIA

I should also include those of you who went to a 300 kit but would rather have a 250....

or, a 300 owner who want's to experience the thrill of fewer cc's....

won't hold my breath.

LOL!...dj, you should be a salesman.

On a serious note, make sure you get somewhat of a guarantee about the condition of any OEM 300 cylinder you might obtain. You probably already know that it's a nikasil coating, and if it has any damage or is even slightly out of spec, you can't just bore it. You'd be just as far ahead to big bore your current setup if there's anything wrong with a nikasil cylinder. I slightly prefer the nikasil setup to a sleeve, but when nikasil is done, it requires just as much work and money as big bore kitting what you have right now with the stock 250 nikasil cylinder.

IIRC Lutz had a 300 kit for sale a while back but i think he wanted nearly what a 331/351 would cost.

Thanks for the input.

I PM'd Lutz to see if his is still available.

Truth is, I'm pretty happy with the 250 + easy mods. I'd go with the 300 kit if it's in great condition and fairly cheap. Been watching ebay for a while and haven't seen what I wanted. I'd feel more comfortable with parts coming from this site anyway.

If it were a substantial cost, I'd definitely go 351 instead. I once had a 331 and it was an eye-opener compared to stock.

If it wasn't fixin' to snow and rain on y'all up there in Illinois from this hurricane deal, I'd jump in my vehicle right now and come up there to teach you some manners.

But on a serious note, are you going to get much bad weather from this deal in your neighborhood?

I know you love your 300 kit TNC, and I think dj has a decent idea fishing around for a deal on one.
Not one drop of rain here yet. Forecast is clear all week until Saturday with a chance of rain. I'm not sure if that chance of rain is even from the storm.
Come on up, the last Dual Sport ride of the year around here is this Sunday , The Brush Poppers "Bitter End" . It's a good one. We can trade bikes. I promise I'll keep it right side up .

I had one, but it's long gone now. Actually, I've had more than one, but I never convinced myself to install. All I've got left of any of it now is a used piston.
I did see somebody's got a seized 351 kit on eBay buy it now or best offer, but that likely needs a re-resleeve job to make useful.

Yeah, I saw that one. With the resleeve and a new piston to match you're probably in as many or more dolares as just buying new from BB.

Guess I'll just button it up with original equipment.
