2nd bike or 2nd set of wheels?

would be doing the work myself, like i said most my experience is with big block gassers and diesels so tearing into a bike engine will be a new thing but shouldnt be crazy.

You should have no problems then. Replacing jug and piston on any 2 smoker i've ever wrenched on is pretty straight foward if you have some pretty good mechanical experience.

Be aware though, you WILL be replacing top end parts on a regular basis if you ride alot. So factor that hassle and cost into your decision.
