Default 2nd/3rd gear bogging @7000rpm

Finally got out on some dirt but had a short stretch of 60mph road. I noticed 2nd and 3rd gear the bike started to chug/cutout/big down at 7k rpm. 4th and 5th gear were fine.. what's the dealio?

Bike is standard as far as I know aside from the core 4 pipe. 5000 miles.

Gracias

Disable the rev limiter up by the clutch lever. This operates in the higher gears.

Is your air filter clean? If so, this bike is probably not fueling properly. Try pulling open the choke/enricher lever and see if it gets better or worse. If better, it needs more fuel, and v/v.

The rev limiteer philgoodklx speaks of is not installed on our US bikes. You shouldn't find one to disable.

Re-jetting the carb is easy. Getting the carb out is the toughest part. Spend a little time looking over klxter's threads on it as he's explored more than most.

Is your airbox lid on or off?
