I would have to disagree, it only takes about 30 mins to swap out the whole engine. Once you have it built up, the timing and everything should be set, and all you have to do is put it in and ride. Then you could save the stock engine for when you sell it, or if you need to work on the 351. Just my opinion.

I have a spare sat in the garage, cost me AUS $300. It's good to know wthat if I ever need an engine part (selector, gear, cam, bucket....) I'm not going to have to bend over at the local dealer.

Thanks to all for the great advice! I ended up getting it - the motor, for $400. I talked it down a hundred and then couldn't pass it up.......
Now I need some more tip $$$ to proceed with going crazy on the thing. Nothing will be out of bounds.
