Default 2010 KLX250s Wont start unless you give it gas

Title says it all. My bike won't start unless you give it gas. Its not a huge problem because once it does start it idles great and runs great. Even after its warmed up quite a bit it still won't start on its own. Only after you give it throttle. Any suggestions on what could be the cause of this. The bike is a 2010 and has 3500 miles on it and has been doing this since we bought the bike at 1500 miles. Thanks

Yah I'm not good with carbs either. I do not think it has been rejected though.

my bike 2012 brand new would not start without gas
and if it sits for 6-8 hrs san diego weather you need to pull out choke to start

10,000 miles later, couple mods still need to give gas to start
and still choke it too

its not fuel injected and I don't recall any carb bike I ever had start with no gas

Is your carb rejected? I'm going to get the dyno jet kit a upgraded air filter and a full exhaust system as soon as my next paycheck comes in

if your asking me
yes its rejected and I even went the extra step and used a wideband meter to dial the jetting in exactly how I wanted it

but like I said the bike acted the same way it is now, when brand new all stock

never started without giving a twist of the throttle
and if sits for over 6-8 hrs even summer day will need some choke to get it started

Years ago I had a dry 400s did the same exact thing too

That sucks, I think mines that way too. The only reason it's a pain in the but is when I am on a really steep dirt hill and need to start it. I then have to hold the front break, press the starter button, and twist the throttle at the same time.
