2010 klx250s kickstart?
hi again :P
so i was fortunate enough to be stuck out in the sticks and stalled my bike in some water /facepalm anyhow bike wouldnt start prolly due to being cold and possibly starter getting wet i guess regardless i ran it flat and then had to push start it in some pretty undesirable conditions so im taking the plunge kick starter time however before i order parts i want to make sure ive got the right parts etc.
is this the part number
99999-0073 for the kickstarter kit i need for a 2010 model (are they exactly the same as the 09 model?) and also i read somewhere on here about it fouling with the footpeg mount on a 09 model is this the case for the 2010 model and how do i rectify
thanks

I wasn't aware of a kit, thought you had to piece it together from the KLX300 schematic, but I just googled the part number and yes, that's it!
Highbeam did this mod, he said IIRC he needed a footpeg from the earlier model. You can search his thread posts to find it.
I've killed my battery on a few very cold winter mornings, this bike is not much fun to bump start with knobbies on it. I need/want to do this as well.

Yes, mine works great. The kickstarter will hit the OEM peg on your 2010 and not make it past horizontal. You can probably start the bike but certainly not a full kick.
The old peg moutn is extra wide to allow the clearance you need and it bolts right up.
I have bent the extra wide footpeg once real bad and now just a little bit. They stick out and catch stumps. It's only like an inch wider but...

Look for a bottom end from a KLX 300. I bought a whole bottom end for around $100 plus shipping, it's cheaper, most likely won't be damaged, and it's already assembled. That means you just remove it from one and install it in the other.
You will need a KLX 300 or 650 foot peg to allow the kickstarter to go through it's full stroke.
Removing or retiming the KACR will help in the kicking.
