Default 2009 throttle assembly... same/interchangeable with 2014?

The title says it all... are they interchangeable? Throttle tube/grip, cables/housings, kill switch/start button. Can I replace the '09 stuff with the 2014 stuff?

There are two cables in the 2014, my '09 only has one, but it also has notch for a second cable in the tube... what's up with that?

Thanks... t

Yes. Should be the same? Did you buy your bike new? I have read some people remove the second cable. Not sure why.

Just got the bike a few weeks ago.

I saw something about running without the return cable in a thread here, but it was a tangential remark that didn’t reveal the reason. I guess I’ll figure that out at install.

thanks… t

Some of us have fitted a Mikuni TM 36-68 pumper carburetor and it's necessary to cut the top section of the throttle actuator to clear the bottom of the fuel tank.
In doing this you will no longer have a functional push cable so the push cable is eliminated. The Mikuni has a strong return spring and everything functions quite well.
See Mikuni TM 36-68 Pumper Carb for more information.
With the Keihn carburetor you should use both the push and pull cables.

I have the 351 kit in mine, and a Mikuni carb, but I'll be damned if I can tell which one... I thought it was the T33, but... how can I tell?

I found a thread here that describes what you just related, so I'll be scratching my head for days as I wait for the new throttle assembly to arrive... t

is that a 33? above the 8012... wtf is this?

The 2014 throttle assemble is installed in the 2009 bike and working way better than the old worn out one… at a standstill. Test ride tomorrow.
