Default 2009 running way to lean

I just got this new 2009 earlier this month. I hate to tear into it to much while it is still under warranty.
Is there a way to remove the idle mixure plug and adjust the idle mixure screw without removing the carburator?

It is possible to loosen the carb boots and twist the carb to one side which will allow better access to the mix screw. Will it be enough to remove the plug? Maybe. It is very possible to adjust the installed carb once the EPA plug is out.

My dealer delivered the bike to me with the EPA plug out and the mix screw at 2 turns. I didn't even know this until I tore it apart, while under warranty, to install the DJ kit.

You hear this a lot from people...I don't want to void my warranty. You will not void your warranty by rejetting or doing many of the other mods mentioned. The only way your warranty can be voided is if the given failure in your motorcycle is a direct result of or a strong contributor from the mod you performed. An example could be where you removed the airbox lid and installed a performance pipe and burned a hole in a piston because you didn't jet properly. In reality this an unlikely scenario, because the bike would run so horribly that you could barely drive it.

There are many modifications that an owner can do to his bike without warranty issues. Heck, you could change your own oil and forget to tighten the drain plug, and while changing you own oil isn't a warranty problem, it would be your nickel when the loose drain plug resulted in engine damage.
