Went to the dealer to see if they had any info. They have no clue yet, expect the 2009 is redesigned. And also, every DS KLX250s is sold out.
Whats this about FI on the Japanes bikes. I wonder if we can do a conversion later for the older models?

Yeah, I went to the dealer to pick-up sprockets and new chain and he told me that next year's KLX and D-tracker will have fuel injection. I'll be watching closely to see if it fits in the same space as the CVK without any major mods to anything else.

Looking at the new bike and the old klx, it looks like a few body parts can be changed with very little modification. I think the rear fender can be swapped by itself. The side panels, seat, tank, and shrouds would have to be swapped together. The side panels will just use two bolts and trim the front or fab a bracket to use the third bolt. I'm not sure if the front fender would hit our current headlight shroud, but I like it.
I probably wouldn't mind the new bike. I would just plan on buying it with the intentions to put KX forks on it and get some more travel out of the rear. I like the new body work. Here are pics of it cleaned up.

BTW, after 500 or so reads, I see everyone wanted to see what I had written over there in the 2007 KLX for sale thread. I wasn't even at a computer and I still got people wanting to correspond or see what I had said. It's like I'm a worldwide celebrity.
