That would have been freaking hilarious to watch. Did you go completely head over heels in a slow motion cartwheel? I have found that off road experience is excellent for learning how to panic stop and for just saving yourself before a near crash becomes a crash.

On your next trail ride. Keep your feet on your pegs, the whole time. Go slow and learn balance. Courses can't teach you balance or braking the same way that experience teaches.

As for how I managed to do this... I had a bit of an accident. I panicked in a quick stop, caught way too much front brake and endo'd. Apart from my bruised ego, the instrument cluster fared the worst. As you might have guessed, I'm very much a beginner, so this was a huge wake up call. Once the bike is back together, I'm going to take a few steps back and focus on parking lot practice and off-road/non-traffic situations for a few weeks.
Hey...an undocumented programming mode for resetting the odometer? Man...too bad Bearoge didn't know about this sooner.

BTW...anyone want to buy an '06 KLX250 with only 500 miles?

No, it was more like I bailed once my body realized I was past the point of no return in the endo, so I landed with my hands out in front of me.

The MSF course is on my checklist before I venture out into the streets again. It had always been in the plan, but I went about things backwards and it was just too tempting to tool around for a bit. I should have forced myself to take the course before buying a bike. Live and learn, I suppose.

hey waldo....lol, never had a chance to post that before.

Look, I was no mx rider when I bought my klx back in 06 .... shoot I'm still not
BUT I can now hang with former mx'ers on weekend rides...and trust me these
F'ers go FAST......and I'm not always in last place anymore

Find a local sand pit and practice for a half hour EVERY day after work...and I
mean EVERY day.....you'll get good fast....shoot I can do a full on stoppie now
without getting scared....and I'm a fisherman...not a biker.

Your sand needs to look sumthin like this....practice...practice .... then practice

If an old surfer like me can do it and do it well...any clown can...just sayin.

Ok I'll list the items in order of importance.

1. Get into a MSF class ASAP!
2. Glad to have you aboard
3. Sorry to hear about the bike
4. Glad you are ok
5. Get the bike fixed
6. Welcome to the forums
