When I bought this bike it was sold as a 2008 model.

When looking for parts, most places seem to list a 2007 and a 2009 model for parts. They don't list a 2008, for the most part.

I looked up photos of the bikes and they show the 2007 with the larger headlights covering. My 2008 looks to be the same as current body style. They do show an 2009 early release model for 2008. I'm assuming that's what I have and the parts will be the same.?.

Anyone else have the 2008 and been using the 2009 plus parts?

 

My bike has a sticker on the frame that says 2008, but the title lists the bike as 2009. Kawasaki did not offer a 2008 klx 250 models. They used the gap in time to restyle and make minor changes to the bike, so they could offer it as a 2009 model year bike.

I still find it a pain to find parts for my '06. I just ordered brakes and they were wrong. I dont know if you guys with '09+ bikes have the same trouble or not. But alot of companies dont seem to recognize the 06-07's. Ive used the fiche's on ronayers.com to find the part i want, then click it, and it will tell you what other applications it fits. LIke the back brakes on the 06-07's are the same brakes as many years of kx500's and kx125's.

 

Haven't some of our non-USA friends verified that there was a 2008 model distributed outside USA?

 

I believe this is correct. the USA got the new KLX in 08 (09 model year) but it was released in other markets with an 08 model year.

 

I think it's worse for us '09+ owners!!! Many parts are interchangeable with anything up to '09. With the redesign in '09, many aftermarket parts designers apparently didn't get that memo. My pipe needed significant modification in order to fit... when I called the manufacturer and asked what year the pipe fit, they simply replied "all of them". Ugh...

At least you can get aftermarket tanks, and racks, and other cool stuff. Those are real hard to find, if they exist at all, in 09+ flavor.

 

I have yet to run into any issues finding stuff for my 09.

 

I ordered in rad guards and the inflable tire bead locks/runflats.

Seems the tire size is 2007, so I don't know what it is........
