Well new here been doing lots of reading. I've bought a new 06 KLX 250 and will be picking it up Tuesday. It's been a hard choice between a Drz400 and the KLX, Due to my size 5'8" 180lbs. and age 36, I had tohonestly ask myself if I want to manhandle that big drz around all the time. My riding I'm sure after a 15 yr. break isn't what it was, so I wanted to take it alittle more easy this time out and thought it would be a good choice. Just wanted to say hello.

Highest regards,
Kevin

Welcome Kevin, Hmmmm 15 year break from your last bike.....I hear that. I bet there are probably 10 or 15 guys in our section that bought this bike after years of not riding, and there are even a few that bought this bike as their first bike. I think Kawasaki did something here. Again welcome and have a blast. Don't hesitate to post questions here, that's what its all about.

WELCOME andSame here, 15 years of no riding.

I actually just rode my buddies drz400 and MAN is it way faster than our little girl!!! Of course that's to be expected.......+150cc from ours, BUT while it's faster it's also taller and HEAVIER!!!!
I could not touch and had to wobble back and forth to stay up..So you being the same build as me 5'8" about 172 lbs we are fine on the KLX. It will actually even get shorter too once everything gets all broken in. We do alot of tight trail riding and he is always falling over and dropping the bike cuz he's short too, plus there are time when I have to help him get the bike upright!!!!!NOT GOOD!!!!!

You can take our bike and fly through the trails,,drop it and in 4 seconds be back on and tearing off!!!!!

Plus the KLX has the looks that just puts it so high up there.......While I was on his bike he took mine for a spin and I was standing there like, Damn that is a sweet looking bike!!! It's MINE!!!!!!

And I doubt he has a forum to go to with such great guys.........Help ya out with anything you ask!!!!

Have Fun and Stay Safe

Dave
