I have a 2009 klx 250 I put a 300 kit and chinese head on and did the marcelino mod, it never ran right again but has barely any time on it, not an hour. Been "in storage" for longer than id like to admit now, got a harley and a KLR and some 2 strokes and no real reason so spend time on klx but also have this project ive got like $3k into collecting dust.

I just put a kx125 for sale and someone offered me a klx250 offroad Kickstart, like a 97. I would normally prefer the 125 over the 4 stroke but if the 97 250 cases just bolt into my 09 frame and I can run the kick start motor while I figure out what we did wrong to the electric start engine... why not?

Anybody done it? Top end kit i think says 96-2024, any differences in the bottom end?
