Default 13 tooth sprocket

This is a stupid question. I just got my sprocket in the mail. I am guessing that I need to fold down the washer around the nut that holds in the existing sprocket, loosen the bolt, pull out the old sprocket, and do the reverse for installation. Am I right? (I am about to starttearing it apart)

Yes take a large screwdriver and tap it back straight. Then take a 1/2 inch rachet with a cheater pipe and then get someone to sit on the bike with it in first gear and the rear brake on. It should come off. Does the new sprocket have a shoulder on it?

I have a picture of the new one, but I cant get it to work using the picture button (it is telling me I need a web address for the link.) anyway, if you mean the rubber thing around the stock sprocket, then no. The new oneis all metal.

Gomer pile you can get a photo site account like photobucket.com and then you use the url from thier site and then you put that into the photo button in kawasaki forums.

Sorry I didn't get back to you last night, it got late. Anyway I walked out in the garage, bare feet, ice cold concrete and took off the sprocket cover and found out what the socket size was. Its a 27 mm. I also bought a 30 mm and now I can't remember why.

Did you get anything done on the sprocket change? That sprocket looks like its close to the right one.

Ahhhh yes, thank you I was racking my brain trying to remember why I bought that 30 mm. After all I did grease the steering bearings a few months ago. It must be the old age setting in.

I am going to buy the 27mm today. I live alone, so I think I will run a strap around the rear break and crank it on the frame to stop the back wheel from turning.
