Default 12500 miles in 10 months and...

...nothing to see here.
IMS 3 gallon, 351 and kick starter soon.
Fork seals just took a crap, but they are working hard over the frost heaves in less than 10ºF, so no surprise there. Sending the forks and shock out to Factory Connection soon, the East coast branch is 60 miles away. Going to let the pros set me up the way I want, without the guess work.
The pile of used crap grows, but is all normal. On 3rd spark plug, 3rd set of tires(soon to be 4th), 2nd/3rd set of sprockets(back to stock gearing, used one front to death and a rear change (to a 47 mid summer) let me re-use the stock chain ring), 3rd chain(although first is still good).
Oh yeah, my starter button fried after 4 months, but the replacement was free, thank you warranty!
This bike is tough!
It's been below 0ºF all week and it just keeps on trucking (parking on my enclosed porch and in the warehouse at work helps), the only damage other than from salt is a couple of cracks in the harness housing. Guess it's too cold for that stuff to flex.
Still love this thing, even in stick trim.
Except for the seat...

You're a brave dude riding in this lousy weather. I seriously want to buy you a beer this summer and share some trail.

damn..the 351 must put some wear and tear on the s model...mine, a sf model, is only on 2nd tires, 1 valve adjustment, original chain, first 13t and 15t front, original rear sprocket, original brake pads, 2nd spark plug...

@DJ- Yeah man, let's ride sometime! Except it's got to be warm.
@ahnh666 - I don't have the 351 yet...but my bike sees rain, snow, salt, sand, and mud(sometimes on the same day) so the chain and sprocket wear is normal. I could have re-used my stock chain but opted not to do so. I swapped out the worn countershaft sprocket and went back to stock gearing for the rest of winter, which required a different length chain and the re-use of my 42T chain ring.
I ride knobbies, mostly on the road, but hit trails often enough to replace worn tires that I could ride on the road for thousands more miles. The 3rd set of tires were/are studded but are wearing badly and starting to toss studs, but could be ridden for a long time in good weather. Might make one more studded rear for Winter and get another regular tire for Spring. My riding circumstances require me to have the bike in top condition. 14 miles from town in -10ºF is not a place to be with a problem, but it can be a place to die, which I am mightily opposed to doing.
I also have a 2T mentality with this bike, meaning I'm on the gas or I'm not, which doesn't help chain wear or tire life. All my other bike's have had some semblance of power and since this one doesn't, I find I like hearing the bike on the gas the best, followed by a nice descent in throttle tone.
I am really looking forward to another 100cc's and an extra gallon of gas, not to mention a well set up, plush suspension!

ahn - No offense intended, but San Fran miles and western Maine miles are not exactly apples/apples. This is rough country for offroad and the roads are arguably worse. MP will see temps from 90 in the summer down to -20 this winter. The sand and salt that are added to the road so we can actually move in the winter takes a severe toll on every moving part.

Thumbs up Brass ***** Award!!

I give you a heck of a lot of credit for showing up at work under the conditions that you're riding. Way too many people in this day would whine, whimper and expect the government to provide the ride or more likely just send the check. My helmet's off to you! Be safe.

When we lived in Wisconsin where they salt the roads if they think it's just going to frost, let alone snow, you'd see cars barely 5 years old with signs of rust. Granted they were the ones that didn't get washed much during the winter, but road salt slime works into everywhere. Here in AZ it is not uncommon to see vehicles 30-40 years old with nary a speck of rust due to the dry climate. The sand and grit can take a toll with the off road riding though. Wash & lube, wash & lube.
