09 KLX250S and WR250R dyno results
Dual sport bikes are rare and hard to purchase ( at least around here )...used ones can go for up to $1000 over book value and new ones go for MSRP to the letter plus tax, setup, taxes, freight..etc.
The more people that like carbs means the more variety of EFI'd dual sports for me and maybe the supply and demand may start to even out

Because I lose no matter what. If I trade it Ill get jack for it and they'll sell it for a huge markup.... If I sell it outright I chance not selling it at all because of the economy. yeah I may sell it, but I might not.
I said that for WHEN I get a new one...not right now. Cash is tight.
After I get this beast jetted right down on the pilot jet...and get the flywheel shaved down. I think I should be faaaaaaaaairly satisfied with it, honestly. Not happy, just not itching at the trigger to get another one.
Besides, that last post was a joke.

The pilot jet shouldn't be so hard to figure out. If you screw it all the way in and it keeps running, you have too big of a pilot. If it dies before you get it screwed very far in, then you have too small of a pilot. Go back to the stock pilot then go up one. I forget off the top of my head what mods you have, but everybody is running about the same pilots (like a 38 or a 40).
And I know what you mean, its hard to take a loss, even if its with something you don't like. I had $2k in trucks parts AND my classic Chevy truck, and could only sell it all for $1700. It sucked, but it had to be done... *teardrop*

Actually I use to run a 38 and then I went to a 35 and it was top notch until I threw on the D tracker pipe. I think I need to go back to the 38 again. Thats not a problem, I just don't want to fiddle with the damn air screw thats impossible to reach.
stoke the flames a little, here's a vid of a turbo wr250. not available for the klx.
I checked.

I'm sure I'll be shunned, but I sold my 06 KLX250S to get an 08 WR250R (actually, I had both for a few months).
I loved my KLX, but it lacked power (even piped/jetted). The WR is a hell of a lot more bike. I've got a FMF pipe and FI programmer on it, as well as all the free power mods. It will run circles around any KLX I've ridden.
I was tempted to get a 450 EXCR, but I've ridden one a bit on the tight technical trails I usually run, and you can get into power with too much power.

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do... I can't be mad at ya... I refuse to buy blue so the WR isn't an option... I'm putting my money in the basket of Kawasaki making a 450-S in the near future, OR Suzuki refining the DRZ.... as in, adding a 6th gear, USD forks, better digital instrumentation.
