Default '07 KLX250 supermoto wheel/tire combo?

What size wheels and tires are you guys running? Will 17x3.50 /w 120/60/17 front, and 17x4.25 /w 150/60/17 rear fit our bikes without any issues? Do I need anything else to complete the install? I'm ordering the wheels and tires from motostrano.com

I'd say 150 on the rear would be tight and not to mention heavy. a 140 section on the rear would do the job easily. May limit your tyre choice though but the weight saving would be good.

Would a 140 even fit in the back? I'm running a 110/100/18 right now and it barely clears the inside of the swingarm. What are the exact sizes of the tires and wheels you guys are running on your KLX tards? What size tires and wheels should I run? I can't find the wheel size off of the 250SF or D-Tracker, nor can I find their respective OEM wheels/hubs for sale on eBay - so I'm going with the Excel/Talon combo, but I want to make sure I get the right size wheels.

I run a 120/70-17 in front and a 140/70-17 in the rear. both are Avon RoadRiders. Front rim is a 3.50x17 and rear is a 4.00x17

Dan

My rims are from a D Tracker. They were sold to me by a member here from Japan, he got them in yahoo auctions in Japan

Thanks, guys. Now I need to find some OEM wheel hubs so I can lace some Excel rims to them. Do any other hubs/rotors/sprocket combinations fit our bike?

Check out the 'wheel' sticky thread at the top of the page.

Thanks, Oz!

Another question... Can I use '09 KLX250SF hubs/wheels on my '07 as long as I put the '07 rotors and rear sprocket on the '09 hubs? I was thinking of just ordering some '09 SF hubs/wheels from a local dealership; not cost-efficient but I can't find anything online.

edit - Are there any Japanese board members that could sell me some D-tracker hubs/wheels?

Okay, I found a website that puts together supermoto wheels for our bikes using Excel rims and OEM hubs. http://www.procycle.us/main/supermoto.htm

Will the 4.25" wide rear fit between the swingarm without rubbing? Will a 140/70/17 fit a 17x4.25" rear wheel?

Okay, procycle told me the rear wheel will fit without any issues, but they recommended I run a 150/70-17 in the rear. Would that be overkill for our bikes?
